Wired Security
Deciding on having Security equipment of some kind installed?
Whether it be a Burglar Alarm System, an Electric Fence or a CCTV Security System for your home or business, please be aware of the consequences that you may suffer, if you decide to choose an installer that is not PSIRA Registered.
Should you have an intrusion of some sort on your premises, as well as a burglary and a case of theft, eg. laptop, cell phone and TV are stolen in the process, and you have Insurance, the obvious thing to do next is to call the Police and open a docket with them, which your Insurance Company will require, in order for you to make a claim and have your goods replaced.
Your Insurance Company may then require certain information from you, eg.
* What security systems you have in place?
* When were the above mentioned Security Systems installed?
and also
* Who installed the above mentioned Security Systems?
Your Insurance Company may then legally send someone out to assess the damages, and also to ensure that the Security Systems that you have installed comply with the SAIDSA standards.
Should your Security Systems not be up to the standards of SAIDSA, your Insurance Company may then legally decline your claim request and you will then be liable for the loss of your goods and or damage to your property.
Please request your installer to provide you with their PSIRA number and or their SAIDSA number, before you decide to use them for their services.
Cheaper is not always better. Cheaper rates may save you money now, but not when it comes to making a claim.
Be smart, make the right choice now.
