Some ideas incorporated in our work have grown with us over time and have become familiar, while others emerge as new from a creative response to an ongoing dialogue between informing factors – the landscape or urban context, the site and its location, climate, orientation, views, environmental sensitivities as well as the universal social and architectural debate. A combination of the above, a strong focus on client requirements and aspirations, as well as a general attempt to relate functional requirements to form, can be seen as the basis of our design approach. The practice is located in Somerset Wes, 30 minutes drive outside Cape Town, and central to the Helderberg Basin, Cape Winelands, Overberg and Hermanus.
