Some tips to keep your stair carpets looking clean.

Learn to leave your shoes at the bottom of the stairs, if you want to make this a family habit or for a certain amount of time during the day it is one of the first ideas to start reducing dust in your carpet, the tread of shoes is a lot more harsh on the carpet and tread dust deep into the carpet. Cleaning your stair carpet is not the only thing you need to do, you are also wanting to give a good smell to it, sprinkling baking soda before you vacuum is a really good idea to let your carpet smell last longer and stay fresh. 

Make sure you are vacuuming regularly. this will just give your stair carpet the extra shine it needs. It is also a good idea to make sure that your vacuum bag is cleaned regularly, this will just give you a stronger pull so you clean the deeper parts of your carpet. Deep cleans twice a year is the recommended amount, take your carpet outside if you can and use the soap and a brush or cloth to wash your carpet. Leave it in the sun and try make sure no one eles steps on it during this time as the dirt will catch much easier into the carpet.
