Stone is an element of design that can be moulded and crafted to add inumerable qualities to your home. Stonemasons prepare and build with soft stone, marble, granite concrete blocks or slabs and any other materials involved with building, or repairing stone structures.
Your stonemason should perform the following tasks:
· Estimate the materials needed to complete the job
· Take measurements, read the blue print or work order
· Cut and shape the stone or other material that is to be used
· Cut and polish marble or granite if being used
· Design and carve items such as lettering for use on stone structures or statue bases
· Design and build walls, fireplaces, water features, stairways, chimneys in fact any structure using stone as the building material
· Lay paving using marble or granite tiles
· Repair and restore existing stone structures such as churches or listed homes
Use an experienced, qualified stonemason and ensure you agree on a written quotation for the best results. It may be a good idea to view previous work to ensure they have the experience needed to complete your project and bring your visions to life!
