Post 47 Build it Journey

Blog Post 47

After a good night’s rest and making friends with a number of locals I left Tulbach most enthused with this lovely town. The people could not be more friendly or generous of heart and everyone is so quick to laugh. I really love the Cape I have to say.

First stop this morning was Worcester Build It and I met with manager Tjaart who was a really good guy. There were excellent results too and I am so pleased (and a bit proud) to say that Worcester Build It has since listing received no less than 152 visits and 64 leads. Amazing. Such a great result smiley

I then headed down the road to Robertson where unfortunately both the owner and manager were away for the day. The staff were extremely friendly but there was no-one that felt comfortable enough to go onto the laptop and go through their store listing. I was quite hungry and decided to eat some biltong when calamity struck and (I had to think long and hard whether to include this superfluous to proceedings news) but I lost half my front tooth which had root canal treatment a few years ago and has not been the same since.

Feeling extremely self-conscious and awkward I headed for the local dentist who was absolutely amazing. Trust me if you are ever in need of a dentist in Robertson go and see Dr Deon Le Roux. Most amazingly is that he (apart from being from the same area as me in KZN) he was in the same Cell Group as my Durban (Pinetown/Hillcrest) dentist Dr Enslin – another outstanding dentist. I had to wait in the waiting room for just over two hours but it was all worth it as Dr Le Roux fixed me up and built me another front tooth. Or half of it anyway. This trip can certainly throw up some curve balls.

I decided to then do the 15 minute drive to the small town of McGregor for the night where I have stayed before. It’s a quiet little village with some lovely art galleries and coffee shops but sadly the village has not been looked after very well and is not the same place that I visited 10 years ago. I did get to stay in a lovely guest house though with lovely hostess and staff and more laughs in the evening. I even got a free 10 minute back massage from the bar lady who is also the town’s masseur. We had got on like a house on fire with lots of joking and laughing. Besides a broken tooth and sage advice about teeth that have had root canal treatment not a bad day.
